Hello.
I have server with a nvidia quadro p4000 card in it. How many streams can this one card encode simultaneously?
Hi,
There is no clear answer to this question. It all depends on many factors, including the quality of the flows themselves.
We don’t have a test bench with a card to run tests on. According to information from public sources, P4000 can transcode (from MPEG2 (5-6 Mbit/s each) to HEVC (around 1.3 Mbit/s)) up to 40 streams.
Hello, Can you please share server specification? like processor and ram details
p4000 will make arround 25 encoding process , same as gtx 1070 consumer card
no need for more than 16 gb ram
you will need a good cpu as gpu transcoding use cpu as well …
for 60 sd streams a 8 core 16 threads cpu will be enough
I have big bertha 2U server from Gigabyte with 4 cages each 2 cards and they are Tesla K80 Nvidia GPUs 24GB and Debian sees 16 cards as they are dual… But I have not tested them yet playing with TBS and Kylone but might test one day
